About Chilli Peppers Cookshop
Although we encourage you to use our on-line shop, if you want to visit us in person, our shop in Louth, Lincolnshire is open from Monday to Saturday from 9am to 5pm.
Jo Woolliams or one of her fully trained assistances, Helen, Rachel, Charlotte, Jane and Sarah will be on hand to give advice on any of the products listed. Jo has over twenty years experience in the food industry and her inability to find specialist equipment prompted her to open Chilli Peppers.
When you visit the Chilli Peppers Cookshop, you find real people who are accountable for what they sell. Having spent some time trying to determine what will make Chilli Peppers so special, it occurred to me that the lasting impression generated by most web site stores is a pretty disappointing shopping experience. We hope to create a difference and make your stay complete retail therapy!!
So here is how it works.........
Firstly, make yourself a coffee – we offer all our customers one in the shop and most accept our hospitality! Of course you have the added advantage of pouring yourself a G&T which wouldn’t go a miss at this juncture - something I am afraid to say is unavailable in the shop! Next, slide in a Katie Melua or similar and CHILL.
The categories on offer on our web site are listed just as you would see them in our store in Louth, so browse away. There are comments by us in every department but we also welcome your comments which we may use to extend our descriptions.
Remember this is our web site. You are included! So please join in and have some fun.
Who are you talking to?
Jo Woolliams: Owner and general dog's body – sales assistant, demonstrator (only of food she might add). Trained in Business – then catering - then qualifying as a professional chef with Distinction (obviously caught the examiner on a good day) recognised the need for a specialist cookshop which actually sells the things we need. Chilli Peppers opened 20th January 2003 and by the Autumn was awarded finalist in Housewares new retailer of the year. Since then we have added a demonstration theatre and have enjoyed entertaining customers with cookery workshops, open days and special events. The shop has since been awarded finalist in National Cookshop showing the most initiative and cookshop of the year twice!. Jo regularly writes artricules for the Housewares magazine and is a panelist judging the latest designs for the housewares awards.
Helen Dawson: Known locally – now nationally as Birdie – you may well wonder why the name Birdie. It's not because of her ability to beat the living hell out of a golf ball but her inability to accept the fact that birds are also part of God's own creations. If your looking for assistance with humour Birdie's your woman - she has an uncanny charm for making light of even the darkest moments. Birdie too has worked in the food industry for the last 20 years. She’s 2 days younger than Jo but will often force customers to guess the age difference in the vain hope they may suggest she is years younger.
Rachel Wood joined the team in September - related to Birdie so please be careful what you say! Rachel has recently relocated to the area after spending time with our friends downunder. She brings with her organisational skills never achieved by her boss whoever she is! Rachel has a new style with her artistic talents the displays of our products have been greatly improved.
Charlotte, Jane and Sarah: Younger and only employed to add sparkle to the shop and obviously attract the Jamie Oliver type customer. They are well trained and throughout their experience working at Chilli Peppers have developed an enviable knowledge of all our stock and are also ably equipped to serve your every need.
